About the Conference:

With technical assistance from the Department of Homeland Security's Science & Technology Directorate, the eighth annual IEEE Conference on Technologies for Homeland Security HST '08 will focus on novel and innovative technologies, which address the most pressing national security problems.

The Conference will bring together innovators from leading universities, research laboratories, Homeland Security Centers of Excellence, small businesses, system integrators and the end user community and provide a forum to discuss ideas, concepts and experimental results.

Call for Papers

The Conference is seeking technical papers in the following matrix of tracks and technical sessions (see below).  Technical papers submitted should focus on next generation technologies capable of deployment within 5 years.  The technical paper focus should be on applied research, addressing hard problems where breakthroughs are needed.

New this year:  A structured session on Detecting and Protecting Against Terrorist Surveillance; four parallel tracks with non-overlapping technical sessions.

The First IEEE Workshop on Design Methodology for Global Security  — with significant transatlantic content — will immediately follow HST '08 on Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

2-page, MS Word with maximum 500 words, plus author(s) title, name, address, phone, fax, email and organization affiliation must be submitted.  On a separate page, principal presenting author biography (max 100 words).  Please specify your preferred session (see matrix above).  Submission will be acknowledged via email.

Publishing Information:

All papers and posters will be published on the conference CD-ROM and distributed to conference attendees.  Selected full technical papers that meet the publishing requirements will be published in IEEE Xplore as part of the IEEE Conference Publication Program.
