Poster Preparation Guidelines for Presentation at the Conference:

Poster sessions are a good medium for authors to present papers and meet with interested attendees for in-depth technical discussions. In addition, attendees find the poster sessions a good way to sample many papers in parallel sessions. Thus it is important that you display your message clearly and noticeably to attract people who might have an interest in your paper. Please check the web site http://ieeehomelandsecurityconference.org after February 1, 2008 for the conference agenda, which will list your poster's session, date and time.

Please Adhere to the Following Guidelines:

Prepare you poster well in advance of the Conference. Neither materials nor facilities will be provided for last minute preparation.
Poster setup will take place one hour before your session. Please arrange to set up your poster during this time only.
Prepare a short presentation of about 5 to 15 minutes that you can periodically give to those assembled around your poster throughout the poster session.
Plan to spend the entire session at your poster.

For Your Poster:

A 4-foot high by 8-foot wide (121 cm by 244 cm - landscape orientation) board will be provided. Push tacks for mounting your poster panels will also be provided. The boards are not made of felt, so please do not plan on mounting your poster using tape or Velcro fasteners.
The title of your poster should appear at the top in CAPITAL letters and be approximately 1 inch (25mm) high. Centered below the title should be the author(s)' name(s) and affiliation(s).
The flow of your poster should be from the top left to the bottom right. Use arrows to lead your viewer through the poster. Use color for highlighting and to make your poster more attractive.
Use of pictures, diagrams, cartoons, figures, etc. should be used, rather than text, whenever possible.
State your main result in 6 lines or less, in lettering about 3/5 inch (15mm) high so that people will be able to read the poster from a distance.
The smallest text on your poster should be at least 2/5 inch (10mm) high, with the important points in a larger size.
Use a sans-serif font (such as "cmss" in the Computer Modern family or the "Helvetica" PostScript font to make the print easier to read from a distance.

Break-Down:

All posters must be broken down within one hour following your poster session. All poster materials on site after this time will be discarded.

Register for the Conference (at least one presenting author must register for your work to be published)
Submit your 250-word abstract for the conference booklet to kathleen@ballos.com. MS Word and plain text are acceptable formats for this abstract.
Submit a 6-page Technical Paper for inclusion in the IEEE Conference Publications Program
